Why do digital thermometers tend to read a higher temperature than the liquid in glass wall thermometers?

I have this portable temperature & humidity meter that you can carry around to check the temperature of the air, but for some reason the wall liquid thermometer usually reads a slightly lower temperature than the digital one.

every thermometer has an error, typically ±2ºF or ±1ºC. So differences are common and expected.

You can't draw a general conclusion from one (ONE) example. With another pair of thermometers, you may see the opposite error/difference.
