What brand of typewriter is good for me right now let me explain?
i’m looking for a portable one with the delete key the reason I want one is because I am a screenwriter and I think would be easier for me to actually write them versus a computer because the computer is a distraction.
I’m thinking I probably want one from at least the 70s

Hi. You're best option would either be to look for an antique "Word processor" like offices used before computers went mainstream
but after typewriters became outdated.
OR to just try to find a used & refurb'ed old laptop that runs either an 8086 or 80386 CPU on an EGA screen, then run a word processor on it like Wordperfect or some other text-based EGA software.
There are still some available & working a few places :
Best example I found quickly :
And lastly, You COULD also just buy a cheap used netbook online for about $35, remove the harddrive completely, & boot it with an 8 or 16Gb USB flashdrive running just DOS & an EGA/CGA word processor from the days when gaming was pretty much The Oregon trail & text adventures like Leather godesses from Phobos - BUT DON'T INSTALL THOSE!!!.
I've used the Rufus utility to install FreeDOS a cpl times with great results & the word processors are easily findable online for downloads at about 8Mbs each.

Typewriters do not have delete keys. IBM did make some "Select" brand typewriters that have two ribbons in them. One is ink, and the other is "whiteout". You shift to the second ribbon and then type over the original text with the "whiteout" to cover it up. (Results are usually "so so".)
Because of the mechanics needed to make this work, those types of typewriters are expensive and massive in size. They would not be portable.
Instead get a cheap laptop, delete all the games, etc, off it, and disable the Internet. It will not work like a "typewriter" but with all the bonuses of word processing. And none of the distractions.

Typewriters that have delete keys are not portable. That is double the ribbons. And considerable mechanicism to make it work.
