Probably most of them go to Indiana at least once in their lives. I spent a YEAR in that benighted state when I went to graduate school at Purdue. Otherwise, I was in the state maybe 25 times for something or another during my life - but I live 2 miles north of the city of Chicago.

A lot. Many Chicagoans also go to Indiana because it is a beautiful state once you get past Northwest Indiana. Lots of good things to do for outdoorsmen. Fishing, hunting, camping, etc. Same reason many Chicagoans go to Wisconsin. It's nice to get out of the hustle and bustle of the big city once in a while.

There's plenty of cornfields to look at in Illinois, why travel?
