Was WW1 really that bad?

    It is bad, not bad as WW2 or even the Vietnam War. But it changed Europe's political and diplomatic atmosphere.

    Yes, it was. Over 9 million combatants were killed and chemical weapons were introduced.

    My grandfather seemed to think so. He got gassed by the Germans, and blown up a lot. and filled full of shrapnel and things.
