It would depend on which mistakes.

The Expanded Universe, for years (before and after Disney), has always fixed/corrected mistakes found in the films.

One of the most famous mistakes is Han Solo completing the Kessel Run in 12 Parsecs, even though a Parsec is a measure of time, not distance.

The Old EU had fixed the mistake, in the 90s Han Solo books

The New EU fixed the mistake in the film Solo.

I’d say just go read the thrawn books from the 90s to now and decide that they’re the sequel trilogy for you. That’s what I did and they’re so much better then the movies.
