ln Eastern Orthodox churches, they won't Iet women in the church unIess they cover their heads. lt's out of respect and aIso to cover up to avoid distractions. They won't aIIow shorts on men and short skirts on women either even if they're covering their head. lt's aIso coId in a Iot of Russia. lt was very common in the UK too for some time, women used to wear them even indoors and things.

Russian women wear head-scarves. A hijab wraps all round the head, neck and tops of the shoulders; a head-scarf covers only the head.

Women all over the world have worn head-scarves for decades if not centuries.

A head-scarf was the default going-out-of-the-house wear for British women of every class until relatively recently.Surely you've seen pictures of the Queen out and about in the countryside? She always has a head-scarf on, knotted under the chin.

European women in general, especially those who were born in and around 1900, continued to wear scarves over their heads for all long as they lived, due to the Biblical command of women covering their heads. After this generation of women died out, the practise of daily head scarf wearing wore out and the modern generation of women discontinued the practise.

What is a "Hi Jab"?.  Try Wikipedia. What does that have to do with Books and Authors?
