What's wrong with being a progressive? Don't people realize that progressives fight for progress (it's in the name!)?

  • depends, relying on technology makes the mind and body weaker the less you use them , and also hurts social human interaction

but politically most progressive ideas are a good thing

They didn't get the name progressive by being progressive.  They invented the name. You really can't be that stupid right?

What some people call 'progress' other people call decay and decline. . .some people thing "change" for its own sake is a good thing. Change is a mixed bag at best and the ones who want "change" the most it usually comes at a cost to someone else.

Nothing, progress, beats status quo. Time to go forward.

One reason conservatives hate progress is because they'll lose their power and control!

For instance can you imagine what would happen if a totally independent electric car was to hit the markets? It'd play havoc with the fossil fuel markets.

Seriously? And what do you think the power companies get their juice from? Sunshine? And don't say nuclear either. Most power plants generate their electricity from fossil fuels.

Because MAGA is regressive, not progressive, trying to take us backward to a time that they think existed but didn't really ever exist, a fantastical time when all of America was white and everyone was middle class and wives stayed home playing bridge with the gals in the neighborhood while husbands went off with their best buds to kushy jobs.

In the recent past, "progressives" were called "liberals" but conservatives became so good at making that label poison, it seemed that progressive was more comparable to conservative and therefore more politically descriptive.

It was the same thing for the pro and anti abortion people saying that they were either pro-life, or pro-choice.  It doesn't change what people favor, but it sounds better to be pro something than anti.

Change for the sake of change, without appropriate caution against unintended negative consequences is not "Progress".
