If Jesus died for our sins, what difference does that make when people kept on sinning afterwards?

JESUS(GOD INCARNATE) SUFFERED AND DIED FOR US SO OUR SIN CAN BE FORGIVEN IF WE SEEK FORGIVENESS WITH A HUMBLE AND SINCERE HEART. HE TOOK THE ETERNAL PUNISHMENT AWAY BY HIS SUFFERING.
MAKE NO MISTAKE, GOD WILL NOT BE MOCKED, THOSE WHO THINK THEY CAN SIN ALL THEY WANT TO AND NOT SEEK FORGIVENESS BECAUSE JESUS DIED FOR THEM ARE MISTAKEN,
THIS IS CALLED THE SIN OF PRESUMPTION AND THAT IN ITSELF IS A MORTAL SIN, SEE ITS MEANING HERE>>>
Presumption (that is to say the expectation of automatic forgiveness from sins regardless of whether one is repentant or not) is, indeed, a mortal sin, since it usurps the will of God. We have hope that forgiveness will be given to us if we die in a state of sin, but we cannot assume that it will be. This is, effectively, a check upon our sinning freely and with abandon if we continue to still believe in a God. Essentially it means that we must take responsibility for our actions. It is only good practise to hope for the best but be cautious about the things that we do.
Presumption would seem to be a sin regardless of the matter of fact which you are making 'presumptions' about since it is the intent with which you do something that matters in this case. If I do something while understanding it to be sinful - whether or not that understanding is erroneous - and expect forgiveness regardless, then I am presuming upon God. It essentially raises me to be His equal, which is a status I am most definitely not entitled to.

That goes for past sins at initial obedience to the gospel. The second law of pardon for those future sins, repented of, is about 1 John 1:9.

People sin because they are sinners. They have a sinful nature. Paying the price for sins (crimes) was just the first step in a process. Next comes the new nature; the Godly nature that God places within a believer; those who repent and believe the gospel.

When a person GETS SAVED, Jesus forgives all their PAST SINS, He paid the penalty for all that persons PAST SINS.
Rom_3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that ARE PAST, through the forbearance of God;
AFTER a person GETS SAVED, and they are forgiven, washed clean, pure as snow. Then they are to no longer continue to live in sins.
Heb_10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
Those who choose to willingly sin AFTER they GET SAVED, will pay for the consequences of their own sins. That is why it is written "You will reap what you yourself have sown" and "If you sow to the flesh of that flesh you SHALL reap corruption" and "you will pay for the wrong that you do" and "You will be chastised (punished) for wrongs that you do"
woe to this generation who thinks Jesus continually goes to the cross for them, and that Daily.

The idea is that we're likely to sin less.

If you repent and accept his sacrifice, you won't have to suffer for your own sins, otherwise, you do.

Idk. "Father, why have you forsaken me?" Doesn't sound like he died for our sins.

Jesus didn't die for our sins. He died to give us the option of repenting of our sins and receiving salvation.Source(s): Greek Orthodox Christian

The lesson of the Bible is that Jesus died for our sins so that we would live for him. And when we do, sin becomes a non-issue. He did not die for our sins so that we can keep on sinning. His death would have meant nothing, and had no value or purpose at all in that event.
2Co 5:15 He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them.
