Should I soak my oats overnight in hot water or cold water?
I usually soak them in cold water in the fridge and eat them raw in the morning but read that this is bad for the stomach. If I soak them overnight in hot water on the kitchen counter would it be better for the stomach? (I'm sorry for the weird wording, English is not my first language)

I think the reasoning behind the not soaking them in clod water is that some people may not allow them to soak long enough to fully absorb the water or milk (whatever liquid you use) Eating raw, oats could cause a stomach upset. Once they are fully hydrated there should be no problem.
They are probably safer soaking in the refrigerator. If you are concerned boil the water and add to the oats then place in the refrigerator. The oats sill soften faster, absorb the liquid faster. Unless you are making enough for more than 1 or 2 portions the oats will cool down fast enough.

doesn't matter. Hot water from the tap isn't hot enough to cook anything.

After about an hour the hot water and cold water both get room temperature...
