I have a box turtle I have had for over 10 years. Is there a way to tell how old it is?

No, there is no way to tell. Some people may try to count the growth rings on the scutes on the shell of the turtle, but it is not reliable way to tell its age. If you got it as an adult, then it is much more than 10 years old. If the rings on the scutes are pretty worn out, then it is pretty old. They have a reputation of being long lived, and some have supposedly lived for over 100 years.

Cut it in half and count the rings
