letting her cat sit at your co-workers house is a good compromise

As a dad, what choice do I have. My daughter has my heart, how can I say NO? I try, but I always give in. One day, some poor soul will marry her. LOL My new best friend.

if the cat lives locally and its safe, could your daughter spend time at the cats own home daily as the cat will be happier there and your daughter will get to look after the animal. Maybe you can drop her off to see that her safety as well as the cats are covered before your friend/co-worker goes on holiday

I think your husband should have allowed your daughter to babysit the neighbor's cat for a week - as long as the cat was kept in her room.  Its not like it was a permanent thing.

I think that you should have cleared watching the cat with your husband, who you know dislikes animals, before telling your daughter you'd be doing this and getting her all excited. Now, you get to deal with the consequences.

That is a decision adults make, not a child
