Can someone help me create a prayer asking the holy spirit for the gift of understanding?

Matthew 6:7, 8 teaches us that our prayers should spring from the heart and be expressed with sincerity. They should not be learned or repeated mechanically. God is not impressed by high-sounding speech or extravagant words. So I would urge you to just pray from the heart. And when you pray, remember that you are addressing the One who already knows what we all need before we ever ask him.

Glory be to the Holy Spirit
The Lord, the Giver of Life
Who proceeds from the Father and the Son
Who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified
Who has spoken through the prophets
Third Person of the Blessed Trinity
Obedient to the Father and the Son
The Love of the Father for the Son
And the Love of the Son for the Father
Most loving of the Three Divine Persons
The Holy Ghost, the Paraclete
Divine Spouse of the Virgin Mary
Who effected the Incarnation
And baptized Our Dear Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
Who descended upon sweet Mary and the Apostles at Pentecost
Portrayed as Fire, the Wind and a Dove...

You can say such a prayer in your own words. Every time we talk to God, it is a prayer.

The inspired text already does that, James 1:5. Compare 2 Tim. 3:16, 2 Pet. 1:20-21.

He knows what you want before you ask Him. So just ask in the name of Jesus so you can receive.

Dear Holy Spirit,
I don't understand WHY you haven't given me the Gift of Understanding.
Isn't that a MAJOR part of your duties as a Member Of TheTrinity?

Obtain knowledge, understanding will follow: Jesus instructed His Apostles to teach only what He Himself taught for 3.5 years while on earth: The Gospels of Mark(except 16:9-20) and Matthew. Genesis is good background.

Keep your words few: just ask God for wisdom. It's not complicated.
We all need it.
