Is an hour commute each way to work too far for a $26/hr job?

Update:

Hey, I wouldn’t be working somewhere that only gives me 4 hour shifts. That’s stupid. I work 8 hour shifts.

Are YOU "worth" $26/hr? That is the real question.

Yes if under four hours per day, no if 12 hours per day

I would not do it. The pay is good. Maybe you can move closer to work.

If not I would look for a job closer to home

Not if it's the only way you can pay your bills.

Considering that your job is 40 hours a week plus commute of 2hrs a day, you are putting in about 50 hours a week.

At $26/hr, you are earning $26 x 40 = $1040 , but to do that you had to put in 50 hours of time, so you earning about $21 per hour

Then there is the expense of driving which I will guess is about $140 for that week,  Now your effective pay is about $18/hr,

This is still a lot better that watching TV and playing video games, but you will get tired of this commute.   If the job has a bright future then you should look into moving closer, If not I would look for a job closer to home
