Can this be from generalized anxiety disorder? ?

My family was just sitting in a taxi...my mom asked if we ate anything on the plane. My sister didnt respond.  She then later she told me that she didnt respond bc she was anxious. Am i just being insensitive in thinking that anxiety doesnt limit someone from responding to a simple question from their parents? I get that anxiety can be present in absence of something to make you anxious...but i feel like its rude to use it as an excuse to blatantly ignore people talking to you?? Please explain if im seeing this incorrectly

It's a little rude, but certainly not important enough to post on an international website!

It is rudeness, plain and simple.
