Do you think the news needs to make it more clear how fast this is spreading?
I see people here not understanding that the smaller numbers of reported deaths or the numbers of cases aren't so large but the rate at which this is spreading is incredibly incredibly fast THAT is the scary bit. Do you think the news and the governments are just not talking about this enough for people to get that message?

Yes, there should be a news flash three time a day with the death toll figures. People need to start taking this pandemic seriously and obey government guidelines to self isolate and stop meeting up in groups.
Young people are the worst offenders because they think they're invisible, so the number of young people who die each day should be broadcast. They need to wake up and realise that all age groups are dropping like flies, not just old people.

If your referring to the USA, your President told everyone that this new virus was a hoax, so none of his worshippers took the advice seriously. So it was able to spread without check for a couple of months.
I wouldn't be surprised to learn that Trump has almost complete control over what US News Channels can report on. So any news would be biased towards his outdated and ignorant views....

There are many people who might only understand that when somebody they personally know dies regardless of what the news media does. Americans posting in 'Politics' seem particularly unable to grasp that fact.

The news is FULL of that message. People choose not to hear it, or they deliberately listen only to lies.
You know how whenever there's anything most people agree on, you're going to have a noisy small minority opposing as strongly as they can. Evolution. Vaccines. The spherical earth. This is just another thing for contrarians to be contrary about. To be like Trump--to believe they already know everything.
Gov. Cuomo said we might reach the peak in only two weeks. We are about two weeks behind Italy and they might already be on the far side. That would be a disaster because we're so badly prepared. But other 'experts' say it might be the whole summer, and that would be a different kind of disaster.

No. There are plenty of resources if someone wants to look at the graph of cases and/or deaths.

Half to two thirds of those dead were going to die anyway soon, then the rest still had an underlying condition even if they would have survived if they didn't get coronavirus, you're panicking like a silly girl.
