How to avoid making reproduced music?

I am writing guitar right now and am trying to find ways to avoid making watered down, reproduced versions of other people’s songs? How can you find a style that’s new?

there's only 7 notes, all songs have already used them. try adding an 8th note.

Outline the lyrics or message you are ok with.

Then make the notes follow the lyrics in a very

Simply smooth way. I prefer easy listening to

Aggressive rock. Like the carpenters or Jim

Crocie or seals and croft or the Beatles or

The doors or jimmy Buffett or John Denver.

Make it so teen agers can play it without lots

Of expensive electronic effects or studio double

Tracks or other modern stuff. Keep it simple

And warm and nice. Good luck
