What important things did John Adams do while he was president?

    Most of Adams' accomplishments were done prior to his presidency. However, he managed to dodge going to war with France (The Quasi-War). He also appointed John Marshall as Chief Justice of The Supreme Court, who was an extremely important justice in the history of the court.

    Other than that, his presidency was not filled with any other major accomplishments.
