Pronouns take the place of nouns. So a noun is a person, place, or thing. Mom is a person and so is dad. Therefore, mom and dad would be nouns. And with your problem, the pronoun would also be the subject of the whole sentence. So think about first-person, second-person, and third-person. That will help you answer your question! You already used one of these with your two answers. That leaves you with having to select something else from one of the remaining ones.

The only pronouns that would fit that sentence are I, he and she.

You, we, and they would require "were" as the verb.
