What happened to sign language?
How many people still use it...who are not deaf?

There are over 200 different sign languages in use around the world. Some are acknowledged as indigenous/official language

My four year old son knows a little bit, because he's autistic and had/has speech delays. My two year old daughter also knows a little bit, because she learned it from my son.
I don't know too many people who are fluent in sign language unless they are deaf or have a close relative who is.
