I don't think we ever had actual Easter parades in the US, as we did for Thanksgiving and St. Patrick's Day.  The 'Easter Parade' was just people getting all dressed up in their best clothes and strolling the avenue to be seen by others, perhaps to get their photo in the society section of the paper.

    "On the avenue, Fifth Avenue,

    The photographers will snap us,

And you'll find that you're in the photogravure".

In fact even that song was not originally about an Easter Parade. When Irving Berlin first wrote it, it was named 'Smile and Show Your Dimple'.

But if you want to get all dressed up in your spring fashions and stroll around the neighborhood, be my guest!

    Happy Easter, BTW.

Kansas City Mo, has had Easter Parades for decades.  Lead by several Easter Bunnies in costume, and followed by people, children dressed to the nine.  It's held on our famous Country Club Plaza, not held this year.
