In 2021, Mardi Gras Day is February 16. Fat Tuesday is the last day of the Carnival season as it always falls the day before Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent.

It's tied to the start of Lent so it varies by year but typically in February/March (it ends on Fat Tuesday with Ash Wednesday being the start of Lent).

The Jazz Festival is usually the last weekend in April and the first weekend in May each year (two long weekends).

This year, it was the last week in February.
On the Catholic liturgical calendar, it is traditionally defined as "forty days" before Easter. As in, you have Mardi Gras followed by the "40 days" of Lent, then Easter.
However, since that calendar excludes Sundays, it's actually 47 days, or 6-1/2 weeks.
