At what age, people start to recognise you as an adult?

Since 18 years old is the age of majority, but people will still see you as a teenager and wont recognise you as an adult, at what age, people will start recognising you as an adult and treat you as a real young adult?

It really depends on behavior and assuming responsibility for your actions, but most adults expect adult behavior to develop in the early 20's.

Mid/late 20s or early 30s.. Really whenever you move out and support yourself (which is often around that age anyway). 18-23 are kids! That's why they're called college KIDS!

If you are still living at home and your parents are paying all your bills then you shouldn't expect the general public to regard you as an adult.

Example: You could be 18 years old, graduate from high school, join the military and being living independently from your parents. In this case people would treat you as an adult.

In your case, I'd guess 40 or 45.

18 is not the age of majority in every state.  Some states, it is 19 or 21.  In Canada, it is 18 in half of the provinces and 19 in the other half.  That said, you are a "teenager" as long as you are in your teens - eight-TEEN, nine-TEEN are still TEENagers.  When you reach 20 - twenty, you are no longer a teenager.  People will recognize you as an adult when you lose your baby face or when you act your age, or older.
