Girl with a Pearl Earring (c. 1665) is probably Vermeer's most famous work.

The girl at the window. I think it is called "The Letter," but it is the example I see most often. Next would be the "Girl with a Pearl Earring."

I have the Abrams edition of Vermeer's work and have marvelled at his technique for fifty years.

Before the film, Girl with a Pearl Earring catapulted that to fame, in Britain at least it was probably the Guitar Player, stolen from the Iveagh Bequest at London's  Kenwood House by the IRA - it was too hot to handle and was eventually returned.

Yes, probably The Girl With The Pearl Earring.

But I much prefer works such as The Astronomer, The Geographer and The Milk Maid.
