I Need Book Recommendations About the Supernatural ?

I’m really getting into the paranormal and supernatural. I love to go ghost hunting when given the chance and learning new things. I want to know all there is about “the other side” and just about ghosts/poltergeists/demons etc. Does anyone have any credible books I can pick up to dive into to expand my knowledge?? I already have “Ghost Hunting For Dummies.” Anything about the parallel universes, quantum leaps, how ghosts operate etc. nothing fiction; I want real research please and thank you

I recommend "Flim Flam" by James Randi and "The Demon Haunted World" by Carl Sagan.

I'll name books by believers and books by interested skeptics.

    Believers

This House Is Haunted by Guy Lyon Playfair, a member of the British Society for Psychical Research

Consciousness Beyond Life, a review of studies by Pim van Lommel, the cardiologist whose near-death study was published in The Lancet

    Interested Skeptics

Books by Gardner Murphy, elected president of the American Psychological Association in 1944. He wrote Challenge of Psychical Research and edited William James on Psychical Research. Like Murphy, William James, the philosopher known as the Father of American Psychology, was a member of the American Society for Psychical Research.

Books by neurologist and near-death researcher Peter Fenwick

Paranormality by Richard Wiseman, psychologist and outspoken skeptic. This book was praised by Richard Dawkins for its intelligent assault on paranormal claims. Dr. Wiseman has said that he does not find fault with the analysis of remote viewing data by professor of statistics Jessica Utts, although he would like to see more evidence to be convinced.

I have read hundreds of books, but my readings on the paranormal are scant. I suggest two amazing books, "The Skeptics Guide to the Universe," and "Spook". The second being a woman's investigations and research into the main subject matter. I get most of my paranormal know-what from the internet and my insight tends to fill in gaps.

You should read  ALL of Sylvia Browne's books, she was a famous psychic and very knowledgeable, they are absolutely AMAZING, and I feel that they will suit you very well.

    • I really like what she says about finding your spirit guides, invaluable advice.

You would do better joining an active forum that is on topic.

Problem with books is that it is usually just one persons perspective, but in forums you will read personal experiences and can discuss them with the person who has experienced it.

Good forums also pull information in from other sources from around the world.

Try a few out as most share the views of their owners, so you may find a few where a lot of members are clairvoyant, or Christian, or Pagan, or are ghost hunting crews themselves.

    Here are a few.

All paranormal books are, ultimately, fiction.  No one has shown that parallel universes exist, quantum leaps are the smallest possible steps and people are just speculating.  I point out that when you are dealing with fiction, you can write anything.  I would point you to Houdini investigations starting with "How I Unmask the Spirit Fakers", an article for Popular Science (November 1925) and, more recently, James Randi and his million dollar challenge.  https://www.nytimes.com/2014/11/09/magazine/the-un...

Who gave the contortionist a certificate? Nobody did. You are aware that people have many gifts that there are no certificates for, gifts they are born with. That is why you don't see a guy from a balancing act flashing a certificate. People had abilities before certificates.
