How can an 8 pack of corn dogs be $5 when a 16 pack is $3?

I get the volume discount but that's crazy. And yes, the numbers are right. I know how to read the tags.

Maybe the vendor has an overstock and is using the low-priced family pack as a "loss leader" to get people to come back for more bargains.

The regular price is not. Might be different brands too. One on sale the other is not?

The 16 are past the sale date?? A different brand? One set is all beef while the other set is just mystery meat? [I need a life.]

Perhaps the supermarket sells them at a discount.

Was the 16 pack on sale for Memorial Day?

The 16 pack has expired date on it.
