If an Asian person got fired from his job recently due to the pandemic solely because of his ethnicity, can he sue for discrimination?

Update:

Especially if the man didn’t do anything to warrant such termination and was actually a decent hard working employee.

In the US, yes regardless of whether it was related to the pandemic or not. But you would have to prove that termination was sue to ethnicity.

It depends on the situation. If the company laid off other workers due to safety issues then no it's not discrimination.

However, If the company solely fired Asian employees and no one else then you have a case.

I would think so but proving it would probably be very difficult.
