Good question.. I live in Manchester UK and there was an article in the newspaper the other day.. This guy is doing rounds and recently just bought a second van.. He sells yoghurt and fresh juice as well.

There are several local dairies that deliver in my area and I live in a MAJOR URBAN AREA.  Of course, I have to pay $6. a gallon for milk and $4 a dozen for eggs.  The grocery store will deliver, of course.

They never left. It costs more. A LOT more. Around here you pay an extra $2 a gallon for delivery.

Have you an ulterior motive Diana? Milk men and mail men can provide additional services if required. As you may know.

It's troubling that you phrase the question as, "Should the U.S. bring back milk men."

The existence and number of milk men (all metro areas still have them) does not happen because someone "brings them back." Milk men don't exist because "the U.S." decrees that it should happen, at least not yet. There are ignorant socialists out there who think the government should be in charge of everyone's lives all the way down to their bowel habits, so that might change depending on who's elected to Congress and the Presidency over the next few years.

It's very simple. Milk men exist because they provide a product and service that other free Americans are willing to pay their hard earned money for, not because someone "brings them back." It's basic economics.

What would be the point?  Someone to deliver milk only?  Stupid.  When you can order milk AND other items needed and have them delivered.

It's not necessary when we have food delivery apps that do the same and more.

Milk/dairy product delivery is still a thing.

And by the way, it's not just a job for men.

Its just not a viable business. Now, if you use 10 gallons a week someone would probably deliver to you.
