How do you have a work visa without degrees?

If you hold an employment visa, you are required to be fully qualified for that work. You cannot go to school on an employment visa, and cannot work on student visa. IF a university accepts you, go home & apply for your student visa 90-120 days prior to the start of classes.

If you don't hold advanced degrees, your employment visa is likely for short-term, seasonal work, and you cannot remain in US awaiting a visa when classes won't be starting until fall - IF schools reopen for on-campus classes. Many schools are doing more online classes, and there are NO VISAS for online schooling. Note that any violation of your current and/or prior visa(s) will likely get you denied any future visa, such as student. If your job ends (or has ended), get back home immediately as there is NO grace period & NO permission to remain in US. Employment visas' last day of validity is last day of full-time employment.

No, the work visa is sponsored for you to work for X employer, if you wish to study then you need to get an accepted place in a registered education University along with international fees in place and apply for and enter the US on a student visa...
