Considering York University in Toronto for grad work. I'm an American. Will attending grad school internationally in CA make it easier...?

...to immigrate there once I complete my MA?

It will mainly give you more opportunities to network so you can find an employer who can sponsor you for a work visa or TN status.

It will also let you find out if you really want to live in Canada.

You will get Canadian experience points, and, it MIGHT be a little easier to get a job in Canada, but, only if your study area is in high demand in Canada.

Somewhat depends on the focus of those studies. But Canada does make easier for those attending Canadian universities to use their degrees in Canada.

No. First, "intent to remain" is visa fraud, and Canadians have seriously cracked down on such frauds, denying tens of thousands of student visas. Next, what's your field of study? You must meet all requirements for education AND experience in an occupation on Canada's shortage list. And you & your employer must then apply - if you fully qualify - for PR before quotas close. Quotas have been known to fill within just a few weeks of posting an occupation on the shortage list. Salaries in Canada are often less than US, but cost of living & taxes are frequently higher than most of US. Do your homework. Study requirements fully. Do NOT expect there's any chance you would be able to remain in Canada after graduation.

    Does it help? YES

Is it guaranteed to help? NO

Does it matter what course/degree it might be? YES

It helps if your particular courses are something that is NEEDED in Canada at the time of your graduation for best chance.

MILLIONS APPLY for Canada what makes you special and just a bit better than 90% of the others.. Sitting in a seat at a Toronto University means what?

May want to explore a few other Universities if your intention is to move to Canada. For immigration purposes you want in the door there are a lot of places NOT IN TORONTO that have students that remain in Canada after they graduate.

Just like the rest of planet COVID 19 is frustrating the system for students and others.

Depends on topic. Canada may need doctors or engineers. A degree in poetry does not cut it. Marrying a canadian would help
