Does witnessing something horrifically scary make you sad?

From watching the death of George Flyod to the protest in Minneapolis. Im afraid to be an American. Literally so scared I could cry

    No it doesn't.

I am glad you did not go to the Iraq War.

Oh, grow up. Yes, it was a horrible thing. But it is not about YOU.

The only person who can "make" you sad is you.  Sadness is an emotion and they only exist in our heads.  You can "think" yourself sad or happy or any other emotion at will.  When I saw the video and they rolled him over his neck was limp and I knew he was dead then.  I know people are calling for murder charges, but murder implies there was INTENT to kill.  This was accidental so it really comes under MANSLAUGHTER.  I think he should be charged and prosecuted.
