Slow and heavy metal bands?

Im searching for death, brutal death, deathcore, slam or doom metal bands with really slow tempos and heavy. The only one i came across was Guttural Slug (Slam) and i loved it. But i already hear all of them.

I suggest some more or less recent albums that might interest you (let us know what you think in case, or if you already know them)

    Celtic Frost - "Monotheist"

    Candlemass - "Epicus Doomicus Metallicus"

    Autopsy - "Mental funeral"

    Asphyx - "Deathhammer"

diSEMBOWELMENT - "Transcendence Into the Peripheral"

    Katatonia - "Brave murder day"

    Vastum - "Orificial purge"

    Ossuarium - "Living Tomb"

    Triptykon - "Eparistera Daimones"

My Dying Bride - "The Dreadful Hours"

Empyrium - "Songs of Moors and Misty Fields"

    Urfaust - "The Constellatory Practice"

The Ruins of Beverast - "Exuvia"

    DOOM:VS - "Aeternum Vale"

*it's all death, death/doom, doom (with some black, or gothic, or folk influence, rarely), there is no brutal or 'core or slam.

My favorite is Shape of Despair.

Listen to their song Angels of Distress, it's really something.

Check out the early Black Sabbath stuff - "Paranoid", "Masters of Reality", and "Vol. 4" in particular...

    You might like Carcass.

If you haven't heard the band Clutch, you ought to check them out.

Everybody knows Danzig, but if you haven't listened to them, they're also great. The first record is my personal favourite.

The first Down record is awesome.

I'm not sure whether or not Helmet would fit in with what you're looking for, but I personally think they're fantastic. There's a side project called Handsome - they only released one record, but I love that one too.

There's a group called Reverend Bizarre who I dig quite a bit.

    Saint Vitus.

    Sleep is a great band.

If you aren't familiar with Solitude Aeturnus, you ought to check them out - great stuff.

It seems like it's cool to hate on them today, but I actually really like Type O Negative, they had some really cool songs and there's no reason to blame them just because they spawned a truckload of imitators.
