So censoring dictator trump on Twitter for fact check lies is illegal but his illegal lies are legal?

Our Constitutionally protected free speech makes most language legal. However, Twitter is a private company and as such can censor whatever it cares to in any manner it cares to. If Trump were calling a press conference to say these things he'd be within his free speech rights. But all this private industry he loves to crow about has its own protections (largely under laws the Republicans have championed).

Actually, yes you are correct. Politicians are allowed to make whatever claims or statements they want. So are you. That's the 1st amendment freedom of speech. Lies are not illegal.
Censoring his statements is a violation of the freedom of speech, and yes that is illegal.

The problem is that only about half the people would agree with you that that's the issue. The other half would tell you that Twitter is biased, and that fact-checking Trump only is evidence of that. I happen to agree. Fact-check all tweets or none at all.
