Is it legal for my supervisor to clock me in after I clocked out to write me up for a reaction I had off the clock to a mistake I made? ?

Just as long as they pay you for the time they had you in the office to conduct the action

Thanks - looks like it may just be an ethical, or lack thereof, issue.

Well yes, since they are legally required to pay you for time they require you to be at work.  Since they require you be there for the write up, they have to pay you, and thusly, you need to be clocked in.

If you mean can he write you up or fire you for something that happened outside of work?  Also yes.
