How's your job, barristers?

What is the best part of your job and what is the worst part?

Any area of law that a barrister may work in. Particularly interested in criminal law. Thank you.

Specialty?  Criminal law.  My particular interest is the research, prior cases, landmark decisions.

I formerly did family law and HATED every second of it.  I would sit and listen to two people quibble about who was going to take the family silverware and wonder why I bothered to go to law school.

At that same time I did a little bit of real estate law, always for prior clients, and I had little interest.  Not challenging in the slightest.

But, as I said, criminal law fits right in with my interest in research.
