Best book for knowing how politics works?

Would like to know the art of politics. both in theory and the history of it. Mostly interested in buy offs, physiological tactics, all the dirty stuff, but would also like to see the textbook side as well.

The Prince by Machiavelli is still relevant.  It is reviled by but studied and followed by many politicians.

Roy Cohn, Joe McCarthy's right hand man and Trump's mentor, didn't write a book as far as I know but there are lots of books about him.  Here is an article of how Trump and Cohn found each other.  https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2017/06/donald-tru...

Trump not being a politician is probably the biggest lie he has got his followers to believe.
