Is it possible to regain trust in someone once it's been broken?

Once broken, trust is indeed difficult to rebuild, but not impossible. It requires work and never, ever doing whatever happened again. And the testing and rebuilding will take as long as it takes.

Of course, it's possible. It's a slow and often painful process but an entirely possible one.

Regain?  Totally?  No.  Partially?  Yes of course.  Find me someone who has never lied.  Not even once.  Running out of candidates?  So you already know that people sometimes lie.  And that absolute trust is never warranted.  What you seek to find is the DEGREE of trustworthiness.

It’s very hard. The person is always going to have doubts

It depends on the situation , I believe that in most cases the answer is no.

Sometimes, not always. And it's like a vase that you've broken and glued back together-- never as good or as strong as before you broke it. That's not from any lack of forgiveness but a survival response that makes people once they've been kicked in the teeth instinctively recoil from possibly letting it happen a second time. Even if you try to will the will to trust after it's been broken, it doesn't work because you can will yourself to do what you will, but you cannot will the will.
