Is recycled plastic cleaned?

When you buy a recycled plastic bottle, it is cleaned, right?

They are safe as they are melted down and made into new sterile plastic bottles and other plastic products.

The plastic is washed, ground, and made into something else.  I have never heard of them being used to make new bottles.  Usually they are used to make those re-usable grocery bags, flower pots, and things like that.

Don't worry plastic does not actually get recycled, it is all a scam to squeeze more money out of hippies.

''RECYCLED'' doesn't mean that the old bottle is just washed and re-used.

The old plastic bottles are washed, ground up, melted down and new bottles are made.

Yes, it has been washed and ground into pellets and melted and molded into a new bottle.  Recycled does NOT mean reused.
