Why are Joe Hill (Stephen King's son)'s books more expensive than Stephen's books? Joe isn't even that good.?

He is nowhere near as good a writer or imaginer as his dad. And Stephen is world-famous.

So why are his son's books more expensive to buy than King's are?

I just don't get it.

Old print runs vs current printing costs?  You can't see the difference?

In short the publisher sets the initial price.

you think one of us might have been in charge of setting the price or something? go complain somewhere else. if you don't want to pay what's being asked, don't. how hard is that? you think anybody cares whether you prefer one author over another? you can't even compose an intelligible question. do you think anybody would care to listen to your opinions on books?

    What are you talking about?

Stephen King books at Amazon (from the top of the list):

    The Institute - $14.96 (hardback)

    The Outsider - $10.45 (paperback)

    The Stand - $11.74 (paperback)

    11/22/63 - $11.75 (paperback)

    Joe Hill books at Amazon:

    NOS4A2 - $9.99 (paperback)

    Horns - $11.39 (paperback)

    Strange Weather - $9.39 (paperback)

    Full Throttle - $13.99 (hardback)

    Heart-Shaped Box - $9.99 (paperback)

Most of Joe Hill's novels cost less than his father's books.  Obviously some of King's books will be at lower price points simply because he's prolific.  Also, it looks like there are a lot more mass market paperback copies of his works, while Hill is only doing hardbacks, trade paperbacks and graphic novels.  Mass market paperbacks are at the lowest price point, but that's because of the cheap printing costs more than anything else.
