First of all, do your local research whatever you are going to start and make a meticulous business plan, then you should expect growth and stability in your business.

Depends on your business
85% of all new small restaurants/food based businesses close within 3 years
Over 50% of all other small businesses close withing 5 years
So no matter the business the odds are against you

Your expectation is to "make money."
How do you achieve this?
You follow your business plan.
Do you have a business plan?
If no, then you can ...Hire a lawyer to make one for you. Hire a CPA to make one fore you. Get a friend who is an accountant or has a business degree to make one for you. Go to the Fiverr site and get a basic plan OR go to the library, check out a college level business book (this is free) and read it and somewhere in the middle of the book it will show you how to make a business plan.
And then you do it.
And then...if you follow all of your instructions...you will achieve your expectation.

Why are you asking others to make expectations for you? Make them your self. Stop being a sheep or you won’t run a business.

To work many many hours for next to no income until the company becomes profitable.
