Are you hesitant to go back to college or send your children to school this fall 2020, due to covid?

Many experts are recommending that children return to school. They say the educational and social damage from not being in school outweighs the risks of COVID. Children do not generally suffer much from COVID. College students in the US are now showing the highest rate of cases because they're not staying home. But while they can get very sick from COVID, they are unlikely to die. The big risks in both case are to the teachers, who are older. You might think of it this way- we think nothing at all about putting our kids in cars and driving them around, even though 30,000 people a year die in car accidents in the US, and teens are the most likely group to have car accidents. But we take that risk, because keeping them at home all the time would do more damage. So it's a tough decision.

one parent interviewed in the press in my country did not mind her child repeating one more year in school and stay at home.

These are exceptional times, rare times in whole of history. Do take care.
