How do you thaw frozen beans to use throughout the week?

I've got frozen black beans I want to thaw out to throw into lunch meal prep bowls to use this week at work. How do I thaw them so that they're not mushy and won't go bad/mold in the fridge this week since they've already been frozen and thaw out to be slightly watery and soft?

You should have portioned the beans out in separate bags before freezing. Now, you'll have to thaw the whole thing unless you can take an ice pick and chop up batches of the frozen beans and then heat up each section as you need it for a minute or two. It can be done but be careful you don't cut yourself. Ice picks are very sharp!

Cold running water till they defrost. Then drain and package.
