If everyone wore a NASCAR style helmet while driving, would traffic fatalities be greatly reduced?

    no they limit vision and cause more wrecks

    I don't know what percentage of auto accident deaths are head injuries.  I suspect not a very high percentage, because of air-bags and 3-point seatbelts.  A much larger portion of motorcycle accidents are caused by head injuries, which is why many states have helmet laws for motorcycles, not cars.

    If you look at the statistics, we should all be wearing  helmets in the shower!
