What is the difference between interlock switch and micro-switch?
- JohnLv 64 months ago
An interlock cuts power to the equipment when you open any of the doors. A micro- switch is a typical interlock. In this case micro means very little pressure and distance needed to open or close the switch. A micro switch can withstand 2 million operations. If you want more operations use a proximity switch (prox). When you open the door of your microwave oven it is a micro-switch that cuts power to the magnetron.
