Do British Citizens with British passport need a tourist visa to go on holiday to Dubai?

Idk how it works but I heard that in some Arab countries you can't become a Citizen there as a foreigner.

But to go on holiday for two weeks, will they need a visiting visa?

Tourists can never obtain citizenship anywhere to begin with. No way to change status & remain on any other type of visa. UK citizens get tourist visa on arrival, valid for a maximum of 30 days in UAE (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, etc.). It can be renewed/extended once, for a maximum of 60 days. Work prohibited, etc. Tourism ONLY. You are required to have a minimum of 6 months remaining validity on your UK passport on date you enter.

If your UK passport has six months validity on it you'll be issued a 30 tourist visa upon arrival in Dubai. Often a given nation's immigration policies have nothing to do with its desire to benefit from a robust tourism sector.

Arab citizenship here is irrelevant; tourists have no path to citizenship. You're just going for a holiday.

  • You'll need to check the covid-19 travel restrictions.  To enter Dubai (or anywhere in the UAE) you need a passport that's valid for 6 months after you intend to leave.  You get a free visa when you arrive.
