All these statues have been up for 100 of years. Why all of a sudden they are bothering people. What is the sense in this? Money spent 4 ?

What is the sense in being more concerned about a statue than the obvious anxiety and rightful anger Of the people who are tearing them down because they live in a country where intolerance is acceptable and where people who are NOT made out of stone or metal can be murdered in broad daylight by police while people watch? The statues are being torn down because they are representing individuals throughout our history who have been intolerant and enslaved and/or brutalized people . They’re not tearing down statues of Christ, etc. Your tax dollars also pay for cops who murder and abuse, along with the ones who don’t. If money is what you’re worried about, Worry about actual living , breathing human beings and not statues maybe..

they should be put in the appropriate war museum, so conversations about racism, slavery and the Civil and Revolutionary wars can take place. they were erected by a different generation with a different mindset. that racist mindset shouldn't exist now. and one of the best ways of not perpetuating it, is informed conversation.
