can abs damage brakepads when it's activated?

    Not if they are working properly However if the ABS proportioning valve goes out It can cause brakes rear brakes to lock up .By pulsating all the time .instead of just when the brake pedal is pushed ..So if the ABS is working correctly it's minimal extra wear .If it's not working properly then there is a chance it can cause premature wear by constantly keeping the pads in contact with the rotor .or basically dragging the brake in a.sense

    No...but it can wear the brake pads out sooner.
