Biomechanics?

2-D cartilage with unit x and y lengths (x =1 and y = 1) is shown above. Inside of it, there is a fiber at Ɵ = 30 degrees. Then assume that the cartilage is under compression from y-direction as shown with force F. 

Determine the range of Poisson's ratio that the length of the fiber after deformation is longer than before deformation.
