do boxers only fight a few times a year as they get so beat up they need months to recover?

Champions fight maybe 2 times a year, sometimes one time a year. They make the big money, so don't have to fight so often.

They also need months to prepare for their next fight. Normally every training camp lasts between 6-12 weeks am pretty sure
