illness in the 1900s?

how was pneumonia treated in the 1900's? preferably the 1910s?

    Like covid today a wing and a prayer but we have brilliant weapons for killing with good int it

    Pneumonia was often fatal. So it was mainly palliative care and a hope that things would improve on their own.

    Bed rest, Jewish antibiotic(aka  Chicken  soup),  some  home / Traditional treatments. There  are  some  herbal  treatments  that were  used  to Open the  persons  airways, bronchodilators.

    Generally the  death rate  was  very  high approx  80 %.

    Rest and fluids.  Some home remedies but no antibiotics were known at that time.
