Is the Ford Coyote engine overrated?

Not really.  For it's displacement nothing else from mainstream carmakers comes close. It easily outguns the GM 5.3L, and FCA 5.7L V8's, and comes close to matching the competitions larger V8's.  It responds to bolt-ons better than GM LS/LT1's  and FCA's Hemis. The Gen 2 and 3 Coyote's can reliably handle 700+ RWHP as well.  The only areas where the Coyote falls short is when you compare low end torque vs. the GM 6.2L or FCA 6.4L, their added displacement means that they have the edge in low end torque. I've been hoping that Ford would do a 5.8L N/A coyote variant to better compete with the big displacement competition.
